Penicillium marneffei là một loại nấm gây bệnh cơ hội, phân lập được trong đất hoặc ở chuột
tre và một số loài gặm nhấm khác ở Đông Nam á. Bệnh do nấm P. marneffei gây nên, thường
rất nặng, chủ yếu ở người suy giảm miễn dịch. Bệnh phân bố chủ yếu ở Đông Nam Á. Ở
Việt Nam bệnh còn ít gặp. Chúng tôi thông báo bốn trường hợp BN HIV/AIDS nhiễm nấm P.
marneffei phát hiện qua nuôi cấy bệnh phẩm từ tổn thương da, niêm mạc và máu.

Penicillium marneffei is one kind of fungus caused opportunistic disease, that disseminated
in soil and in Bamboo rat and other rodents living in Southeast Asia. Penicilliosis marneffei
always appears in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. The disease lacates
mainly in Southeast Asia. The author reported 4 HIV/AIDS patients infected P.marneffei identified
by culture samples from mucosa, skin lessons and blood.
