Trước đây điều trị gãy mâm chày do chấn thương thường được phẫu thuật kết hợp xương
bên trong. Biến chứng nhiễm trùng sau mổ và hạn chế chức năng khớp gối đã gợi ý một
phương pháp điều trị mới.
Ứng dụng nắn chỉnh kín và cố định ngoài để điều trị gãy mâm chày đã rút ngắn thời gian liền
xương ,hạn chế tỉ lệ nhiễm trùng sau mổ và phục hồi tốt chức năng khớp gối. Chúng tôi ghi
nhận kết quả qua 80 trường hợp điều trị gãy mâm chày. Thời gian liền xương trung bình 16
tuần, tầm vận động khớp gối > 90% trường hợp gấp gối > 1200, không có khớp giả và co rút
gân gót.

Summary
In the past, tibial plateau fractures due to trauma were treated with internal fixation procedure.
Complications of the treatment included inflammation after surgery and limited knee motion.
After that appropriated treatment was started.
Application closed reduction method and external fixation for the tibial plateau fractures decreased
the average time of union a fracture, reduced rate of wound infection and improved
knee motion well done.
Outcome measurement: over a two years period, 80 patients were treated with modifier external
fixation , all fractures united at an average of 16 weeks and more than 90% of cases
achieved flexion of the knee joint about more than 1200, no mal-union, no collapse of the
Achille tendon
